BRIEF PROFILE AND PROPOSAL TO HOST GHANA ART AND CULTURAL EXHIBITION FESTIVAL 2010
IN ROEDBY, DENMARK.

I present to you a brief profile on Ghanaian Art and Culture Exhibition and Festival and wish to take this opportunity to express my intention and desire to host a festival on art and cultural exhibition in Roedby, Denmark.

Ghana is situated on the west coast of Africa with Togo and Cote D’Ivoire being some of her neighbours. Different ethnic groups inhabit it and each tribal group has its own culture. For example, the Ashanti’s are well known for their hands-on experience in woodcarving, ceramics, metallurgy and pottery making. Accra, Cape Coast and Koforidua house some of the best art galleries in Ghana and some of them host varied musical programme's.

This festival is aimed at marketing the culture of Ghana internationally in that dealers in the art and craft industry will exhibit their products and Ghanaian music and dances will also be portrayed. The event will take place in August and will span a period of one week. Ultimately, it is geared at becoming an annual event.

Since the festival is geared towards forging closer ties between Ghana and Denmark, an avenue will be created for Danish citizens who take interest in Ghanaian culture and want to learn more about it. Registration will be made at Bo Sigvardson and Gallery Sigvardson in Denmark and all necessary arrangements will be made to for them to come to Ghana. They will be met and picked at the airport to the cultural centre which will be sited at the beach or near a riverside.
It will be named Gallery Sigvardson Danish-Ghana Cultural Village. Also teachers, well-versed in drumming and dancing will be sent to teach in schools in Denmark that are interested in knowing more about the culture of Ghana which will channeled through Gallery Sigvardson. I look forward to forging a successful partnership with you.
